Mid-week update

I know, I’m a day late for a mid-week update. I was going to write this yesterday, but I didn’t get to it. So here it is, a day late.

Chapter 4 of Shadow and Light is in the works at the moment. I’m hoping to finish it and get it online next week. I’ll also be starting my EMT training class next week, which will slow down the writing a bit. It’s only a 9 credit-hour class (as opposed to the 16 credit-hour firefighting class I took in the spring), so it’ll only be meeting a couple nights a week. That means I should be able to keep up a 2-chapters-per-month schedule on the book through the fall.

Right now, book 1 is mapped out at 25 chapters plus the prologue and epilogue. At two chapters a month, that puts completion in June or July of next year. In reality, I should be able to move back up to a more aggressive schedule after I complete the EMT course, so the book could be done as early as April or May. That may feel like a long time, but trust me, that’s fast for a book (especially the first of a series).

I don’t know if I’ve officially mentioned it yet, but for the record, the Shadow and Light series is currently mapped out for at least four books. Other books may develop to add to the series, We’ll have to see. Hopefully, you’ll want to come along for the whole adventure.

In other news, I’m still waiting for the auditions from my audiobook readers. I know audiobooks are a lot of work, so I’m not surprised. I’ll follow up with them and get an update as soon as possible.

Ok, well, that’s all. Now back to writing!
